Blue Rats Hydrogen Formulation Private Limited is an Indian deep-tech company focused on developing next-generation solutions for clean energy, low-carbon hydrogen and sustainable petrochemical production. Our work is centred on converting methane-rich feedstocks into higher-value energy and chemical products through an integrated photochemical technology platform.

The company’s technology journey is led by Mr. Lalit Chudiwala, Founder & Director, an inventor and independent researcher who has spent more than a decade developing and patenting a methane-based photochemical energy technology. His research has focused on methane photochemical conversion, free-radical reaction systems, hydrogen production and thermal-energy generation.

Blue Rats is advancing this research from an inventor-led concept toward a scalable technology platform. The platform is designed to work with methane-rich feedstocks and to explore their conversion into hydrogen, ethane, ethylene, LPG-range hydrocarbons and recoverable thermal energy, creating multiple potential value streams from a single process.

Our Technology Focus includes photochemical methane conversion, reactor and process development, product separation and recovery, energy integration and scale-up. The development approach combines laboratory validation, engineering design and collaborative research with academic and technical partners.

Our Vision is to contribute to a more resource-efficient energy and chemical industry by developing technologies that can connect methane resources with low-carbon hydrogen and value-added hydrocarbon production.
